At Times Parenting Can Be Quite Isolating

To me, sometimes parenting feels like One Big Race! Am I Spinning On A Hamster Wheel? It Feels Like It! Why Exactly Am I Always Rushing? Where Is It That I Am Headed To? Each stage of motherhood presents its own set of challenges and recently, and the biggest challenge for me is time! If Only I had more… BUT You And I know the solution to this madness though is NOT more time. We can always use some parenting hacks, in the meantime Heres A Story…

“Mommy”

“Yes, Whats Up Boo Boo?”

“Can We Stop At The Park? I Want To Get On The Swings With You and Lay”

I think my grip hardened on the steering wheel and I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. how can we? there is laundry to start .. dishes to clean .. unchecked homeworks, doesn’t he know that every second of my day is accounted for? His sister has an art project to complete! Hair to wash, reading to administer.. you name it every ‘must-do’ for the day flooded my thoughts.

I looked at him through the rear window and I said, “Sure boo boo, what a great idea! It Would be Great to share the swing with you both” I took the left turn and drove for about 10 minutes to the regular park. We got out slowly, I took his hand and he smiled and we walked towards the swing quite joyfully while kakak strutted her fabulous self to the monkey bars.

It was shady, with beautiful palm trees.

We walked pass the common area for community exercise and up a small hill, the wind was cooling, the smell of grass was welcoming and I felt wonderful.

I can do laundry tomorrow, the dishes can wait, so ill check kakak’s (big sister) homework a little bit later…these moments are the ones I welcome to overload my thoughts. So dear friends..ride off once in awhile, it doesn’t always have to go to plan…take in the sights, sounds and smell! Alhamdullilah was blessed to share a moment! If you haven’t spent some quality time with them little humans…its about time.

Do It! Thank Me Later.

I found this Interesting book which gives great advice on how to communicate with babies, children and teenagers.  I would like to recommend it for those of us who who want to make some sense of how they turned out the way they did. I found it to be reflective, calm, and an extremely helpful look at how we interact with each other, and why.
